A licensed architect, Michael earned a BA in architecture from the University of Washington in 1986 and has specialized in residential design and energy-efficient, non-toxic construction.
He is noted for light-filled spaces and installing creative, sound foundations in the most difficult conditions.
Quirk has worked with clients in six states and seven different climates.
His work experience includes serving in Southside Virginia with Vista, a national community service organization, serving on a home construction crew, working in New Mexico on energy-efficient, solar-powered and adobe construction. In 1989, he opened a design/build business and in 2015, an architectural firm.
He believes that good design and sound construction are more important than square footage for successful spaces.
He has developed significant expertise in installing foundations in tight spaces without damaging nearby structures or plantings.
